There’s something so satisfying about turning everyday materials into something both beautiful and useful. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how I created a charming woven paper basket using firm white cardboard for structure and a recycled, colorful paper poster for the woven detailing. It’s a simple project that brings new life to discarded materials—and the result is a sturdy, eye-catching basket perfect for gifts, Easter treats, a potted plant, or a fresh bunch of flowers. .

I hope to instill in my grandchildren a sense of joy and wonder in the creative process.  My hope is that they will grow in knowing, that we are made in the image of The Creator. Each year, they love making something special for collecting their Easter eggs.  This time we tried the woven paper baskets. I prepared well, wanting to make sure they felt capable of making. While the older ones were able to follow along and take pride in what they made,  the younger ones needed much more help.  So I mostly crafted the baskets for them,  showing them bits of the process as we went.  I hope to plant and water seeds of creativity that will grow over time.
