I actually have 4 bird cages in my home – 3 of them are purely for decorative purposes, and the one in my kitchen houses a crazy ring necked parakeet.
I bought the 3 decorative ones from my Local Charity Shop, where I happened to find 3 mini vintage trophies with pigeons on top. I removed all the plastic paraphernalia from the bird cages and cleaned and painted them. I dismantled the trophies, and attached the pigeons to the cages. I’ve used them to house all sorts of displays.
I have a large fireplace, with wood storage bins on either side. They used to look like this…
